POSITION: Roll-Off Driver
LOCATION: Williston or Ocala Transfer Office
JOB OVERVIEW: The Roll-Off Driver will report primarily to the Assistant Operations Manager and secondarily to the Operations Manager, and is responsible for loading, transporting, and delivering materials to customers or businesses in a safe, timely manner. The Roll-off Driver will also be responsible for preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries. The Roll-Off Driver will fulfill the company’s transportation obligations efficiently and effectively while adhering to all safety and DOT regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Make Safety the number one priority in all aspects of the position and encourage others to do the same. Must also be willing to report and mishaps or near misses to a Manager/Supervisor immediately.
- Safely and accurately complete jobs as they are assigned to you via Salesforce.
- Complete all forms necessary within Salesforce.
- Relay all relevant conversations with customers to management to ensure the company solves any issues that may have arisen.
- Will neatly, accurately and completely fill out all necessary paperwork throughout the day and turn in to proper person.
- Is Responsible for performing minor maintenance functions to trucks on a specified day of the week, visible on the shop information board.
- Will ensure truck is kept neat and clean on a daily basis and will also perform a more thorough cleaning according to the schedule provided.
- Responsible for noticing potential problems on trucks that if given attention immediately, could save time and resources in the future.
- Will ensure that the company loaders are kept in the same manner as your company truck.
- Drivers will work closely with Maintenance on allotted days to do the pre-trip inspection on the truck for the purposes of pre-emptively repairing problems in waiting.
- Drivers should relay any information that may be of any importance concerning the company customers, competition, competitor’s customers or any potential customer to the President and Customer Service Manager of the company.
- Will assist Maintenance in keeping a neat, organized and clean shop area.
- Responsible for ensuring the proper use of company phone, credit card and fuel card.
- Will act responsibly on the job site taking care not to damage others property by operating equipment in a way that would endanger anyone or anything.
- Responsible for driving equipment in a manner that will not expose you or the company to fines or penalties from any law enforcement agency.
- Must be able to clean and refuel trucks at the end of the day according to company standards.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatcher, and co-workers at all times.
- Stay current with transportation regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class B CDL Required.
- Have required company DOT physical
- Pass pre-placement and random drug tests
- Complete and pass company road test
- Have an acceptable driving record as reflected by MVR and with no major preventable accidents in the most recent 5yrs
- Must be willing to put Safety first in all job responsibilities
- 2-3 years of work-related experience
- Excellent communication and judgement skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Able to operate front-end wheel loaders
- Able to see and hear, specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
